The Stuff True Statesmen are Made of

The "fraidy-cat" news media manages to proliferate the Rightees' talking points instead of looking at the correct viewpoint of our Constitution. For example; instead of underscoring the phony ideas of the Repupican talking points such as "Nancy Pelosi----has no business----talking to the leaders of other nations." They ought to be studying our Consitution and understanding the fact that Congress is on an equal footing as the Administration.
What Nancy Pelosi, fully elected Speaker of the House and second-in-line for the Presidency has accomplished in foreign relations, is what Bush and Cheney and Condoleeza have failed to do.
I have never known an administration which threatens, ignores and attacks sovereign countries the way the Bush administration does. Either they have no concept of the meaning of diplomacy, or else talking to other world leaders would upset their own personal agenda.
Pelosi, as the most definitely elected leader has every right to go into Syria or any other nation which is teatering on the brink of turning against America. Her intentions are noble ones, unlike the Iran-Contra debaucle in which Reagan and Cheney and Bush conspired to detain our American hostages in Iran until AFTER the presidential election. Did they forget that Reagan was not even a member of congress back then ? Yet these three scoundrels overstepped Jimmy Carter's predicency and took it upon themselves to deal with the issue.
God bless Nancy Pelosi. Congress needs more statesmen/women like her.
